Right of Choice The subject of abortion has come up time and time again. Rights to life, feel this way or that. Do my opinions about a subject as a male really concern everyone else? I am not sure how my views can change a world, but I am sure they can shed some light into the topic that is no longer taboo. I am Pro-Choice for many reasons.


I believe that, since a man is a contributing factor for a woman's pregnancy, he should have some say. I do know and understand that being a man, we cannot fathom what it is like to give birth to a child. I believe it is not my place to tell woman she should or should not keep it. Although, I think sometimes there are mitigating circumstances why someone may want an abortion, but I do not believe abortion should be used as a free form of birth control. I want women to feel they have some stake in their own lives. I am not going to rise up, and cast them out because they have had an abortion.


I do not think the government should either. I believe the ultimate decision for an abortion should be left up to the individual. The government has a lot of power and control now, but this would allow too much. I think this is were privacy steps in, and permits us to lead our lives as we see fit. To make decisions, not always the best ones, but ours in our own.


To have an option to do what we feel is correct. I do not want the government telling me next, when I have to sleep or eat. I am not saying that it could get that far, but a powerful move such as that could lead to more catastrophic matters. I like having the ability to think, and act freely. I want a woman to have those rights. They are granted to us in the constitution, the right to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness in all situations.


I do not believe the Founding Father's wrote the Constitution, having in mind that it would allow for that right of choice. I believe that it this precious document protects that right for every person. Besides, if a woman wants to have an abortion, who is really going to stop her? It is her life, and her choice. I think that abortion should remain a legal option for women.
